Bentley has released a teaser photo and video of its latest model created by Mulliner’s personalization division: the Bentley Batur. This new project will be a continuation of the Bentley Bacalar, a luxury convertible that was produced in just 12 examples. Like this one, the Batur should be limited in number to mark its exclusivity.

Without giving away further details, the Crewe firm announced that the Batur will feature a new Bentley styling language that will be seen in future products from the brand, although it’s still hard to tell the lines from these first teaser images.

Bentley Batur: still a mysterious model

What we do see in the video is Bentley’s silver winged emblem located at the top of the grille, which appears to be dressed in glossy black. It has some fluorescent orange spots just below it: this is likely to be one of the customization options of the model.

As for Bakalar, whose name was inspired by a lagoon in Mexico, Batur borrows the name of another 16km² and 88m deep body of water: Lake Batur, which sits at the foot of one of the most impressive volcanoes on the island of Bali, Indonesia.

Bentley: Mulliner’s new creation

The completely hand-built Bentley Batur is an exclusive GT that will be the style icon for the next 100% electric cars in the Bentley range.

Information about its engine has not been revealed, but it is still too early to see a 100% electric version in the Bentley lineup. The Batur could probably adopt the 6.0-liter W12 that produces no less than 659 horsepower and 900 Nm of torque on the Bentley Bacalar.

Bentley: An engaging program for Monterey Car Week

The Bentley Batur will be unveiled on Sunday, August 21, 2022, as part of the Monterey Auto Week, which will be held in California, United States, from August 12 to 21, 2022. On this occasion, the public will be able to discover exclusively from all angles.

Indeed, Bentley will take advantage of Monterey Car Week to show several exclusive models signed by Mulliner: in addition to the Batur, there will be one of the custom copies of the Bacalar (number 8), the Continental GT, the Continental GTC, as well as the Flying Spur, not to mention the prototype Blower Car Zero, which announces the restoration of 12 examples of the 1929 Bentley Team Blower.
