
The girls from the youth national polo team, who won the silver medal at the World Championships held in Belgrade, returned to Greece at noon yesterday.
The juniors, despite their sensational efforts, lost in the final to the USA 10-8, finished 2nd and continued the great tradition of Greek polo, which for many years has been leading the world among men and women. .
This particular medal is the third for Greek polo in the institution’s short history of five competitions, the other two being gold in 2012 in Perth and bronze in 2018, again in Belgrade.
“We are proud and happy to have lifted Greece to the world stage. We fought with all our might again, as we never forget. By the final with the USA, we have bitterness left, but we do not stop trying, working and dreaming,” said World Championship MVP and Olympic athlete Fotini Tricha.
