Education Minister Sorin Kimpeanu said on Saturday that without education nothing can be done, and for that we need funding and management capable of implementing all the necessary projects and changes.

  • “I was asked who I consider the best minister of education in the last 30 years. I am sad to tell you – none. Starting with me, the minister who had a mandate in 2014-2015. It’s simple, it’s logical, if we were good, we wouldn’t be in this situation now,” said Sorin Kimpeanu during a debate organized in Iaşi on the new legislation in education.

That is why, Minister Kimpeanu emphasized, “this is an important moment”, and the changes are no less important.

The minister noted that the two laws on education, which are under public discussion, are nothing more than the transfer into the legislative text of the final report “Educated Romania”.

  • “The change is significant. Unlike Law 1 of 2011, which had important, correct procedural changes, but they were not accompanied by changes in institutions, they were not accompanied by changes in resources. When you want to achieve different results with the same people, with the same institutions , with the same resources, the chances are minimal, and it was visible, it was visible from the fact that, for example, in 2022 we organized a bachelor’s degree according to Law 84 of 1995. 11 years later with its appearance, we have not yet been able to organize baccalaureate exam under Law 1. Why? There were no institutions, no mechanisms, no resources. This bill accompanies process changes with changes in the architecture of the system. This system accompanies the process of changes and institutions, with resources. If we do not have financial resources , then all this will be in vain”, – emphasized the Minister of Education.
