The war in Ukraine is the most dangerous moment for Europe since World War II, and Russia cannot be allowed to win this war, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said on Thursday, Reuters reported.

To prevent a Russian victory, NATO and its member states may have to continue supporting Ukraine with arms and other aid for a long time, according to a senior alliance official.

“It is in our interests that such an aggressive policy does not bring success,” Stoltenberg said during a speech in his native Norway.

Describing what Moscow calls a “special military operation” as an attack on the current world order, Stoltenberg said the North Atlantic alliance must prevent the spread of war.

“This is the most dangerous situation in Europe since the Second World War. If President (Vladimir) Putin is really thinking of doing something to a NATO country similar to what he did to Georgia, the Republic of Moldova or Ukraine, then the whole of NATO will be involved immediately,” the Secretary General of the Alliance emphasized. , quoted by Agerpres.

On February 24, Russia launched an unfounded and unprovoked military aggression against Ukraine. Moscow constantly declares that this is a “special military operation to de-Nazify” the neighboring country and protect the Russian-speaking community in eastern Ukraine.
