
Over the last day, 3,993 new cases of COVID-19 were registered in Romania, which is 216 more than the previous day.
802 new cases in 24 hours were from reinfected patients who tested positive more than 90 days after initial infection.
In specialized medical facilities, the number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 1,547, which is 105 more than the previous day. Also, 99 people were hospitalized in ATZ, which is 12 more than the previous day.
Of the 99 patients admitted to the HTI, 74 were unvaccinated. Of the total number of hospitalized, 237 were minors, all of them were hospitalized in wards, 39 more than the previous day, and 0 – in the intensive care unit, as in the previous day.
One fatal case was recorded in the last day, a woman aged 70-79. The patient had concomitant diseases and was unvaccinated. To date, 65,802 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 have died.
Over the last day, 4,108 OT-PCR tests were performed (2,379 based on case definition and medical protocol and 1,729 on request) and 14,632 rapid antigen tests.
To date, 13,240,845 RT-PCR tests and 10,453,729 rapid antigen tests have been processed at the national level.
