For Medvedev, who was unable to participate in the Wimbledon tournament due to the organizers’ decision to disqualify Russian and Belarusian players, it was the 250th professional singles victory.

His last match was in the quarterfinals in Mallorca, where he was defeated by the Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut on June 23.

Medvedev will meet Lithuanian Rikardas Berankis (world number 98) in the quarterfinals.

Britain’s Cameron Norrie, the defending champion in Los Cabos, easily qualified for the quarter-finals with a 6-3, 6-0 win over Taiwan’s Chung-Xin Tseng.

And the Moldovan Radu Albot managed to reach the quarterfinals, defeating the Australian Jason Kubler, who reached the 1/8 finals of Wimbledon this year, 6-4, 6-2, reports Agerpres.
