
The government intends to approve the draft law on the ratification of the protocols on accession to the North Atlantic Treaty between the Republic of Finland and the Kingdom of Sweden at a meeting on Wednesday. The protocols were signed in Brussels on July 5.
“By ratifying these protocols, Romania expresses its consent for Finland and Sweden to become, respectively, the 31st and 32nd member countries of the North Atlantic Alliance. The integration of these states, firmly anchored in the values of the Euro-Atlantic community and having a significant potential for strengthening the security of the Alliance, will be a valuable strategic asset for the Alliance,” the project’s justification reads, reports Agerpres.
The Protocols will enter into force after all NATO member states have completed the necessary internal legal procedures in this regard.
On Wednesday, Cucé’s cabinet will also discuss a draft law on Romania’s accession to the Convention on the Registration of Objects Launched into Outer Space, opened for signature in New York on January 14, 1975.
According to the project, the Romanian Space Agency creates and administers a national registry of objects launched into outer space.
The agenda of the Government meeting also includes a draft order on amendments and additions to Law No. 95/2006 on health care reform. With the help of the proposed amendments, the introduction of new criteria for the initial training and filling of posts by competition for all categories of management positions is considered: managers, executive directors and deputy executive directors of the District Directorates of Public Health and the Municipality of Bucharest, the management of the County Ambulance Service and the Bucharest Ambulance Service – Ilfov, general directors, medical directors, chief physician.
Also, the executive committee should approve the draft decision on the government’s allocation for the current year of funds from the Reserve Fund of the budget to supplement the budget of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in order to provide direct support for the benefit of the Republic. Moldova in order to meet urgent support needs, which also arise to fulfill the commitments made by Romania at the Berlin Conference on April 5, 2022. In Berlin, Romania announced support to the Republic of Moldova in the amount of 10 million euros.
