MedLife, the largest network of private healthcare services in Romania, continues to support its doctors in the process of improvement and over-specialization in the various areas of medicine that interest them through the innovation and continuous learning center developed in 2023. On March 21 and 22, the medical operator organized a new master class dedicated to orthopedic surgeons on the topic of anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction. The event, coordinated by Dr. Melinte Rezvan, Chief Orthopedics and Traumatology Physician, took place at the MedLife Humanitas Hospital in Cluj and consisted of the presentation and demonstration of 6 different reconstructive techniques within 14 surgical procedures, which were broadcast live.

In recent years, experts have noticed a marked increase in ligament reconstruction interventions, parallel to the increase in sports injuries. The success of this surgical intervention can be achieved through a variety of techniques, chosen according to factors such as the patient’s condition, the nature of the tear, and the surgeon’s individual philosophy. Building an informed vision of these methods requires exposure to a significant number of interventions.

That is why, by organizing the master class in Cluj, MedLife aimed to offer doctors a comprehensive and modern perspective of the anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction process. The event brought together about 40 doctors from the Group, as well as from the public and private sectors, who, together with experts from the country and abroad, explored the latest and most effective methods in this field.

“We are committed to our mission of providing the highest quality medical care, so we continue to provide our doctors with the proper foundation to learn about the most advanced medical methods and improve them for the benefit of our patients. During the master class at the Humanitas Hospital in Cluj, doctors from all over the country managed to discover and deepen the latest practices and technologies in the field of orthopedics that are used all over the world, which they can later apply in the units where they practice,” said Dr. Larisa Kyriak , medical director of MedLife Group.

The workshop was an exciting surgical experience, both live and in the operating room, and provided participants with a comprehensive understanding of the latest approaches in ligament reconstruction, providing participants with valuable information to improve their surgical and decision-making skills.

For patients, the consolidation of expertise in orthopedics translates into access to comprehensive and innovative treatments, better surgical outcomes, faster recovery and increased safety, thus promoting optimal health and mobility of the musculoskeletal system.

“Our event is a significant step in the development of the practice of orthopedic surgery in Romania. With the help of this master class, we aimed to promote the introduction of the latest and most effective global orthopedic techniques into the arsenal of treatment methods available in the country, contributing to the improvement of the results of surgical operations and the recovery of our patients. Good doctors are in a constant learning process, so we want to stimulate and encourage medical staff to improve their skills and constantly strive for excellence in patient care,” said Dr. Melinte Rezvan.

MedLife’s strategy to continuously support the medical education segment, both for the Group’s doctors and for the medical staff of external units, will continue in the coming months with new sessions. In addition, last year the market leader of private medical services in Romania organized and supported more than 20 medical events, in which approximately 12,000 doctors participated in total.
