Cristiano Bergodi: “We lost a match we should have won”

The Italian coach called the result a “disaster” and said his team had “committed harakiri” and conceded two goals due to relaxation.

“When it’s hot, it’s normal that there are nerves and that everyone is disappointed. I lost in an incredible way. In the first half, we played alone, we scored in the 48th minute, we scored a goal from offside, but we were in charge even in the first half. It was a tough match not only for us but also for them.

At halftime I said that you can win if you score. We made harakiri. If you score and relax… I have 2 goals! I changed it, nothing happened. I also played 11 vs 10! It is unclear. This is frustrating.

We lost a game we should have won, especially after the goal in the 48th minute, we lost because of our behaviour. I scored two goals because of relaxation, there is no other reason

I could not believe it! This is harakiri on our part. For us, this is a disaster from a moral point of view! We are all guilty, both me and the players!” – Cristiano Bergodiquoted by DigiSport.

In the second half of the game in Bani, Rapid scored from a corner kick through Funcho, who beat Laurentia Popescu with a header (min. 48).

Three minutes later, the hosts were outnumbered after Gouri saw his second yellow card.

Despite this, the Oltenians came back into the match and restored the tie in the 59th minute through Bayaram, who received a good pass from Mitrice.

“Krayova” took the lead in just 7 minutes. Aleksandru Mitrice made a shot from 11 meters.
