The crew of the Romanian Agency for Rescue at Sea (ARSVOM) intervened on Friday evening to take the injured sailor who was on the ship near Sfantu Gheorghe, writes News.ro.
ARSVOM officials announced that they had been asked to intervene on Friday night to conduct a medical evacuation-type intervention.
“Aboard the Panamanian-flagged New Horizon, located 25 miles from Sfantu George, a crew member requires emergency medical attention. The SAR Apollo vessel with ARSVOM at full speed set off in the indicated direction. Also, the New Horizon ship was diverted by the MRCC to meet the SAR ship in order to reduce the time of the intervention,” the ARSVOM noted.
They added that the Sar Apollo crew and a nurse on board took away a man with an arm injury.
The man was transferred safely and in a conscious state to the ambulance team, which was on the shore of the port of Sulina.
