Certain trims are sometimes as well-known or famous as the models that feature them, notably at Citroën, where the Pallas finish on the DS was synonymous with the Holy Grail.

A finish we also found on the Citroën CX, which has since faded into obscurity, as has the Prestige finish. For a few years, the Citroën C6 was eligible for the Pallas finish in the UK, but it didn’t impress.

Goal? Simplify the DS range

But the good news: in 2024 the Pallas trim will return to the DS, but not Citroën. Indeed, DS Automobiles has just announced two new trims to its range, namely Pallas and Star. It will not be about two new finishing options in addition to the existing ones, but about a global reorganization of a catalog that has become too complex with levels of Bastille, Edition France, Performance Line+, Rivoli or even Opera.
This new line will be introduced on DS 4 during April. This will also lead to some new features, as according to the press release, which remains rather evasive at this point, Pallas and Etoile are coming to an end “Everyone will have a certain badge, the motifs of which are inspired by decorative arts. The Pallas subtly combines the doors of the great Parisian palace and the historic axis of Paris (the Arc de Triomphe of the Carrousel, the Obelisk of Concord, the Arc de Triomphe and the Arch of Defence), while the Etoile illustrates the great, heightened light of the twelve avenues that converge on the Place Charles de Gaulle, which to In 1970, it was called Etoile Square.

Options for future electric models?

As always, DS will focus on France and its heritage with several elements that echo the monuments that adorn the capital.
The two trims should also be eligible for optional packages, a new trend among manufacturers to simplify the catalog and, in the case of electric models, slip through the cracks and benefit from an environmental bonus, even for an electric car sold. for over €47,000 with options.

DS currently offers just one electric car, the DS 3 E-Tense, which starts at €42,200 and therefore has a €4,000 eco-bonus, including a car made in France near Poissy in Paris. region.
