The Romanian men’s polo team has learned the opponents in the preliminary stage of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. The tricolor will debut against Greece on July 28.

In the first match at the Olympic Games, Romania will meet Greece in polo

Romania’s polo team, which qualified for the Olympics after South Africa’s withdrawal, will make its debut against Greece on July 28.

Then there will be matches against the USA, Croatia and Italy, and the three-color preliminary stage against Montenegro will be completed.

France, Hungary, Greece, Japan, USA, Spain, Australia, Serbia, Croatia, Montenegro, Italy and Romania are the qualified teams for the 2024 Olympic Games.

At the World Polo Championship in Doha, Romania finished in tenth place, but qualified for the Olympics thanks to the fact that the first 9 teams had already qualified, and South Africa’s place was taken by the tricolors.

The polo tournament at the 2024 Olympics will be held from July 27 to August 11. We will have two groups of six teams, four of which will advance to the quarterfinals.

This will be the first participation of the Romanian polo team at the Olympic Games after 12 years.
