Lewis Hamilton shocked the start of the year in Formula 1 by announcing that he has agreed with Ferrari to start cooperation from 2025. Now it’s Mercedes’ turn to try a supercar.

Max Verstappen, the favorite to replace Lewis Hamilton at Mercedes
The departure of Lewis Hamilton leaves a void in the Mercedes team and the boss of the German manufacturer is considering a top transfer to strengthen his squad.
Winner of three world titles in the past three seasons, Max Verstappen has a contract with RedBull until 2028, but his future at the Austrian team is in question due to a rift between his father and director Christian Horner.
Even so, this does not faze Toto Wolff, who says that Verstappen would be the ideal replacement for Lewis Hamilton.
“We have a vacancy, the only one among the top teams, unless Max decides to leave, and then we will no longer have a vacancy.
So. You see his level of performance, but I wouldn’t want to neglect the others.” he said, reports Agerpres.
Wolff tried to recruit Verstappen when he was a teenager before he signed with Red Bull, but failed to offer him a place in Formula 1.
The Austrian also said that he has a very good relationship with Jos Verstappen and that they met then in Vienna to discuss a possible collaboration in the future, but at that time the Italian pilot already had an offer from Red Bull.
Toto Wolff also did not rule out the options of Fernando Alonso or Carlos Sainz.
“Obviously there is Fernando, who is very exciting, and Carlos, who is very good. So there are several options.” – he concluded.
Mercedes, who dominated the Formula One World Championship from 2014 to 2021, failed to win a race last season and faced a double relegation in Melbourne, their first since 2018.
