​Ukraine qualified for this summer’s European Championship (they will be Romania’s first opponent in Group E) after beating Iceland 2-1 in the final of the qualifying round at the tournament in Germany.

Just like in the match against Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Ukrainians had to come back in the match in Wroclaw (Poland), after Iceland opened the score with Gudmundsson (’30).

Our neighbors did not score a goal in the first half (Yaremchuk ’39 – offside), but scored twice in the second half.

Viktor Tsygankov (’54) and Mykhailo Mudryk (’84) scored from passes by Georgy Sudakov and advanced to the final tournament (June 14 – July 14).
