Political reaction after HotNews.ro published on Saturday the results of a survey conducted by the IRES Institute for the non-partisan public initiative Young People Vote. The results, cited by young people, show that AUR will receive the most votes from young people aged 18 to 35.

Ionuc Mostianu, vice president of USR, says that research shows that young people do not get information from television or websites, but rather from Tik-tok, YouTube or other social networks.

The main change is how the parties interact with the young public and which sources have become reliable or important for this electorate, the UDR spokesman emphasizes. This communication is also visible in the results.

According to him, the population aged 18 to 35 receives all information, not only related to politics, from the online environment or social networks.

“Youtube is basic, Tik-tok, Instagram, any social network and here USR and AUR are moving better than other parties”, – this is the position of the representative of the Union.

“I think the people from AUR won the young electorate because of the way they communicated, they used social media a lot in a new way for politics. I watch Simion live, I think that helped. Tik-tok helped them gain popularity. We will see how this popularity translates into voting intention and votes on June 9,” Mostianu told HotNews.ro on Saturday.

The deputy believes that the struggle for the primacy of the young electorate will unfold between the SDR and the Ukrainian SSR.

“UDR is still winning over the youth, we also have our polls. We have a dynamic, independent organization with a special budget for youth events. Of course, the majority of young people will choose the UDR. Surveys of the UDR show that young people prefer the UDR and AUR and to a lesser extent traditional parties. The fight for youth is between USR and AUR. Young people do not vote ideologically, they are not ideologically attentive, they vote by quickly and emotionally analyzing the election proposal, and always feel the temptation to vote for something new,” the UDR spokesman said in an explanation.

Ionuc Mostianu adds that USR is still perceived as a young party, because people see people close to their own age in the leadership.

“I am one of the oldest users in the parliament. UDR is a young party, with a young president, many young people under 30, under 40 years old. Young people generally vote against the system, and traditional parties have shown that they cannot reach the young electorate because they are ankylosed in communication and functioning. “Traditional parties perceive young people as an accessory that can be worn at various events,” says the UDR deputy.

Hotnews.ro also tried to get a reaction from representatives of PSD and PNL, but the leaders of these parties did not respond by the time of publication of this article.
