Like Porsche and Ferrari, Lamborghini had a very successful year in 2023 Auto Plus news in your smartphone

Years go by, but they look the same for Lamborghini. As in almost all previous years, the brand breaks its delivery record. Except that in 2023 manufacturer Bull for the first time passed the symbolic milestone of 10,000 sales in a full year.

Like Ferrari or Porsche, prestigious brands do not suffer from the crisis, and with these good results they can also start thinking about the energy transition, very carefully, and in any case not too quickly.

The order book is already filled for 2024

“2023 was the best year ever” by Lamborghini, p turnover increased by 12.1% to 2.66 billion euros, the brand says in a press release. Operating profit reached 723 million euros, an increase of 17.8%, and the operating margin increased to 27.2%, the manufacturer details. “Lamborghini continues to break record after record on many fronts”commented its CEO, German Stefan Winkelmann, before adding that “These are clear signs of the reliability of our strategy”.
This year will be ” important new features ยป such as the presentation of the Urus PHEV and Huracan replacements, Stefan Winkelmann promised. If you want an Urus or Huracan this year, it might (again) be tough. All the thermal models are sold, and we’ll have to wait for the plug-in hybrid version of the Urus planned for the end of the year, as well as the next-generation Huracan, which will not give up its iconic 5.2-liter engine. naturally aspirated V10 for the twin-turbo V8, which the manufacturer says could have a bit of character.

Electricity is also coming to Lamborghini

And electricity in all this? For Lamborghini, it won’t be until 2028, but the hybrid is already attracting customers, as is the new Revuelto, whose order book ” exceeds the two-year expectation“, the brand notes. Lamborghini, which celebrated its sixtieth anniversary in 2023, will debut this year in the first category of the World Endurance Championship with its SC63 hypercar.
In addition to hybrid versions for each of its models by the end of 2024, Lamborghini plans its first fully electric car, a four-seat coupe, for 2028. We already had a good preview of this with the Lanzador concept car last year.
Lamborghini has not released any technical information regarding the powertrain of this upcoming electric sports car. We just know that the Lanzador will be built on the new SSP modular electric platform, a platform that will come to Audi in 2025.

Lanzador will be equipped with two electric motors, one per axle, and in general will develop more than 1300 hp. Battery capacity and runtime are currently undisclosed.
