BMW Neue Klasse X: iX3 of the future behind the scenes Auto Plus news in your smartphone

This is the future of BMW design. In fact, we already had a good look at it at the previous Munich Motor Show, with the Vision Neue Klasse concept car and its subtly retro-futuristic styling. Today, the German company presents its version of the SUV in a unique way.
Actually called the BMW Vision Neue Klasse, this concept doesn’t really deviate from the classic definition of an SUV.

A new platform and a new aesthetic signature

Vision Neue Klasse six new electric models over the next two years. This first model of the series, scheduled for 2025, will be produced at the Hungarian factory in Debrecen.
Aesthetically, this electric SUV has a design that is both modern and retro, a trend that seems to be succeeding in the automotive industry, like Renault with its electric R5. The grille, symbolic of BMW, has a more moderate shape, reminiscent of the codes of the BMW 3 Series E30. Integrated LED headlights create a distinct light signature, while the overall lines of the car remain crisp, promoting roundness and the use of recycled materials. The transverse line is lower than that of the competition, offering a spacious and bright interior thanks to a large windshield and a fully glazed roof.
Inside, the main thing is simplicity, a central touchscreen, which may disappear in the future, in particular due to Euro NCAP safety criteria. This will no doubt be replaced by another technology already present in the concept, namely BMW Panoramic Vision, a head-up display system that promises a more intuitive and safe driving experience.

Future electric BMWs will go further and charge faster

At the technical level, there is still little information. We just know that the next generation of BMW electric cars will still be based on lithium-ion batteries, and solid-state batteries are not yet mature enough according to the brand. Autonomy should be optimized by improving the engine, aerodynamics and weight of the vehicle, which promises to reduce consumption and increase autonomy.
On the other hand, there will still be some changes in the battery cells, circular rather than prismatic, which offer higher energy density and improved autonomy, with larger models capable of reaching up to 800 km on one charge. Future electric BMWs will be equipped with a high-voltage fast charging system that will allow you to drive about 300 km in just 10 minutes.
In particular, even if this concept rather heralds the iX3 of tomorrow, it also highlights the future aesthetic codes of the new BMWs to come.

The brand is even mentioned “The sixth generation of BMW”all in all underlining the importance of this concept for the manufacturer, which will therefore open a new chapter in its rich history next year.
