The incident happened on March 11, when the student, in front of his mother, threatened her with death and hit the conductor several times, dissatisfied with the fact that he was repeatedly punished for his behavior. He was detained by the police for 24 hours and then released.

As a first step, the school management decided to suspend the student for 5 working days, starting on March 13. At yesterday’s meeting, the board of directors of the college installed an out-of-school teenager.

“It is a shame that the National College of Alexander Papiu Illarian, a school that has always had its doors open to those who wanted a high, friendly and inclusive academic environment, today closes its doors to those who lack the normal attitude that should lead a Romanian school,” the press said – a school release quoted by the local press.

In the next 2024-2025 academic year, the student will be able to re-enroll, but to another school.

A film about events

On March 11, 2024, around 10:00 a.m., the teacher of class VIII A requested the intervention of the principal of this class. According to the Mureş school inspectorate, the student climbed into a closet and protested against being invited to go out and attend classes, citing that he had been repeatedly punished for his behavior.

After the refusal and obscene language, the director asked the students to leave the class together with the teacher and go to a specialized laboratory.

At this time, the student in question smoked a cigarette while sitting on the windowsill, and the laboratory is located on the second floor. Both the local police and the 112 emergency service were called.

When the police crew arrived, the 8th grade student was on the first floor, and after a violent outburst, he was handcuffed and taken to a police car. Employees of the school security and protection police came to the college.

After they left, the student returned with his mother, they waited for the conductor in the corridor, threatened to kill her and, having flared up, the student hit her several times.

Through the 112 dispatcher, the police team was called again, which took the schoolboy and his mother away. The conductor was transported to IML and SMURD.
