Darius Olaru wants to win the title with FCSB and dreams of reaching the semi-finals of EURO 2024
The captain of FCSB this season is the second most important player of the team after Florinel Coman.
Darius Olaru has scored 14 goals this season in the Super League and is a good midfield option for the Romania national football team.
The 26-year-old midfielder is in the training camp of the “tricolors”, which will play two friendly matches – with Northern Ireland (March 22) and Colombia (March 26).
Here, Olaru gave an interview to FRF TV, in which he told what goals he has for 2024, one of which is very bold.
“I have a very good year in numbers. I helped my team with many goals and assists. I am glad of this fact. The ideal end to the season would be to win the championship and reach the semi-finals of the EURO. There is pressure on the EURO. I don’t think that has changed. I met him at Mediaş, he was the same from day one. He really wants and works to make his dream come true. I think the main factor was the band.
We are the same players from convocation to convocation, and that united us more. This should be the first step. I knew we had two U21 finals, I knew those generations would come up behind. From Nicolae Stanchiu, I would take over the quality of a leader, and from Dragushin – his ambitions. I don’t want to think about the start of next season. I have to finish my work at the club and now I have two matches with the national team and we have to prepare as well as possible for the EURO.” Darius said to Olaru.
