Daniel Wells pulled off a surprise victory at the World Open Snooker Tournament (Yushan, China) by defeating the world No. 3 player known as “The Pistol” in the first round.

Mark Allen has 11 titles won at ranking tournaments (19 finals).
Mark Allen also won three tournaments this season: Champion of Champions, Snooker Shoot-Out and Players Championship.
In the next round, Wells will face the winner of the He Guoqiang-Wang Xinbo duel.
World Open 2024 will be held from March 18 to 24 in Yushan Sport Center (China). The tournament has a total prize pool of £815,000 and the reigning champion is Judd Trump (2019).
A semi-final appearance is rewarded with £32,500, with the finalist receiving £73,000 and the grand champion £170,000.
