Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi said on Sunday that Russian President Vladimir Putin wants to rule forever and that the Russian presidential election was an illegitimate fraud. The White House said that the Russian elections were “obviously not free and fair” because opponents were jailed and others were not allowed to run.

In his nightly video speech, Zelensky said that “the Russian dictator is faking another election,” and Putin is “fed up with power and is doing everything to rule forever.”

“There is no legitimacy in these mock elections and there cannot be. This person should be tried in The Hague. They should assure us of this,” he added.

“The pseudo-elections in Russia are neither free nor fair, the result will not surprise anyone. Putin’s rule is authoritarian, it is based on censorship, repression and violence. “Elections” in the occupied territories of Ukraine are invalid and another violation of international law,” he wrote Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany on X.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Great BritainDavid Cameron on Sunday complained about the lack of “free and fair” elections in Russia, where Vladimir Putin won the presidential election with more than 87% of the vote, AFP reported.

In a message published separately on X, British diplomacy condemns “the organization of illegal elections on Ukrainian territories, the lack of choice for voters” and the lack of independent control by the OSCE, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe.

The team of Russian rival Oleksii NavalnyI, who died in prison, on Sunday condemned the presidential result of Vladimir Putin, which after partial counting of votes amounted to more than 87%, calling it “unrealistic”, according to AFP.

“The percentages invented for Putin are clearly not related to reality. It’s not even worth talking about them,” Leonid Volkov, a former close associate of Oleksiy Navalny, responded to X a few minutes after the votes from a quarter of the polling stations were announced.

According to exit polls, Vladimir Putin won the presidential election in Russia with a result of 87.8%.

By the way, let us remind you that the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, ironically, “congratulated” Russian President Vladimir Putin on his re-election in the presidential elections on Friday, the first day of the elections.

“I want to congratulate Vladimir Putin on his convincing victory in the elections that begin today. No opposition. Without freedom. There is no choice,” wrote Charles Michel on the X platform.
