Prime Minister Marcel Čolaku stated regarding the ban on AUR leader George Simion from entering the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine that he received documents that were the basis of the decisions taken by the two countries. “This is a well-founded administrative decision,” the SDP leader emphasized, adding that “the documents have a secrecy regime, I cannot disclose what I am forbidden to talk about. Only the state to which they belong can make them public,” News.ro reports.

  • “I had these conversations, documents came to me, the documents are classified. I have seen the decisions of both the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine regarding the maintenance of the ban on Mr. George Simion’s entry into the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine. I believe that this is quite a strong signal that politicians are currently banned from entering the two neighboring countries,” said Marcel Cholaku, answering the question of whether he had discussions with the local authorities regarding the ban on George Simion’s entry to Ukraine and the Republic. Moldova, Sunday on Digi 24.

When asked what this signal tells us and what its interpretation will be, Cholaku answered:

  • “Don’t ask me to divulge things I’m not allowed to divulge. This is a reasonable administrative decision. This also applies to the unification of Romania with the Republic of Moldova, I suspect that Romania also did not want to unify with Ukraine.”

When asked if it would be abnormal for Romanian voters to know everything there is to know about George Simion, if there is anything to know, the Prime Minister replied:

  • “There are some documents that do not belong to the Romanian state. Only the state to which they belong can make them public.”

Also, when asked whether for him, as the prime minister, as the president of the party, the topic of George Simion is closed in this matter, the leader of the PSD answered: “From my point of view and from the point of view of the PSD, an alliance is possible, a coalition is excluded and any joint obligation with the AUR party”.
