A HotNews.ro correspondent from the Republic of Moldova went to the Russian Embassy in Chisinau to talk with Russian citizens of that country who went to vote in the presidential elections. The day was also marked by a violent protest, when a man threw two Molotov cocktails over the embassy fence. Dozens of protesters also came to the embassy for the “Anti-Putin Day” campaign announced by Navalny.
Citizens of Russia living in the Republic of Moldova lined up today at the polling station organized by the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Chisinau to vote in the presidential elections.
The brutal incident, filmed by a HotNews.ro correspondent on the spot, happened around 11:30 a.m. when a man wearing a mask and medical gloves threw two containers of flammable substances over the embassy fence.

The man shouted at those standing in line that “they are morons who are voting with a fascist.” Several men tried to catch the protester, but the police intervened and detained him.
The 54-year-old man is a citizen of the Republic of Moldova, and during the hearing he motivated his gesture by “some dissatisfaction he feels with regard to the actions of the Russian authorities,” as reported by the Moldovan police.
After this incident, the voting process continued. Here are some of the statements of people interviewed by a HotNews.ro correspondent:
– I am voting because for me Russia is like the former Soviet Union. It is a pillar of peace.”
– “Putin did not start the war. The war was started by the West, which used Ukraine, having prepared everything in advance.”
– How do you see the changes taking place in Russia over the past two years? Anyway, I think you’re watching what’s going on.
– “Yes, I’m watching. My children live in Russia. The daughter is in Vladivostok, and the son is in Moscow. Russia is prosperous and will be a prosperous country. Russia is not what the West “depicts” us. I think that there is more democracy in Russia than in the United States of America,” said the man, who was born in Moldova, but has been a citizen of the Russian Federation for a long time.
Also at the polling station was a man who claims he does not have Russian citizenship, but came with his partner, a Russian citizen who has the right to vote.
“Everything was put in place. The masks have been removed, who really represents what,” said the man, referring to the conflict between Russia and the West.
“Yes, if we look at Russia now, this country has consolidated. Yes, nothing good should be expected from this. We once again made sure that we are a very strong country.”
Consequences of Russian propaganda: “Why is Moldova collecting NATO armor?”
The consequences of propaganda in the Russian mass media can be found here. One of those waiting to vote said:
– “Why is Moldova gathering NATO armored vehicles here?”.
– Where did you see that?
“What, you don’t read the news?” – answered the Russian.
– How democratic do you think these Russian elections are? – was one of the questions to the people in line.
“I think Russia is a democracy, I don’t know how exactly, but it is,” one woman said.
– What changes have taken place in Russia over the past two years?
– “It is visible to the naked eye. Thanks to the sanctions: “Russia has started to develop,” said one man.
During the voting, several protests took place, in which both citizens of Russia and Moldova took part, who came to express their opposition to the Putin regime.
Some came to join the “Anti-Putin Day” action, which Navalny called for.
The protest was not without incidents: “This man asked about this flag and started tearing it. Flag of the “Freedom of Russia” Legion. Today it is the most effective opposition (no – against Putin).
As for the citizens of Russia, they can defend their freedom only with weapons in their hands,” explained the protester, who was holding the flag of a Russian organization fighting on the side of Ukraine and headed by former Russian deputy Ilya Ponomaryev.
– “I am a citizen of Russia by birth, I am from the city of Bryansk.
– “In your place it is written here: “Do not vote for the fascist Putler.”
– Putler. Absolutely correct. I consider him a fascist and a Führer, which Hitler was at one time, for the simple reason that his statement about the reasons for the invasion of Ukraine sounded exactly like Hitler’s,” said a young woman from Russia.
