Representatives of the Permanent Electoral Authority (AEP) said on Saturday that the Central Electoral Bureau was established to conduct the European Parliament and local elections on June 9, and the composition of the BEC was finalized with the participation of representatives of political parties. Opposition parties complained that both the representative proposed by Forţa Dreptei and the representative proposed by PMP were denied membership of the BEC, despite the obvious legal grounds that give the right to represent the two political formations, News.ro noted.

Thus, “the Central Election Bureau consists of seven judges of the Supreme Court of Cassation and Justice – Judge Vasile Biku, President of the BEC, Judge Gheorghe Liviu Zidaru, Deputy President of the BEC, Judge Adina Georgeta Ponea, Judge Yanina Blandiana Gredinaru, Judge Ruksandra-Monica Duce, judge Leontina Şerban, judge Ioana Bohdan, president and vice-presidents of the Permanent Electoral Body Toni Greble, Marian Mugulet and Zhombor Vajda,” said a post on the AEP Facebook page.

The BEC also includes representatives of political formations and citizens’ organizations belonging to national minorities, namely Viorel Mocanu, representative of PSD, Christian Ene, representative of PNL, Stefania Petre, representative of USR, Laurenciju Plăesu, representative of AUR, Maria Kolumban, representative of UDMR, Bohdan Tokhanyan the representative of PRO Romania and Ivan Trutser, the representative of the parliamentary group of national minorities in the Chamber of Deputies, also indicate the cited source.

Representatives of the PMP charge that the representative of the PMP in the BVC was rejected on the proposal of a deputy from the Central Committee. They also say the decision comes only a week after the PSD-PNL government decided to remove the PMP from the polls through an emergency election consolidation decree.

And the Forţa Dreptei party complained about “unbelievable abuses against opposition political parties regarding the participation of representatives in the Central Election Bureau.”

At the same time, USR, PMP and Forţa Dreptei submitted on Saturday to the Central Election Bureau (CEC) a protocol on the creation of the “United Right” alliance to participate in the June 9 elections.

According to the decision of the executive power, the election period from the June 9 election began on March 12, and the election campaign will begin on May 10 and end on June 8 at 7:00 a.m.
