Previewed by the Infiniti QX Monograph concept car at the 2023 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, the new Infiniti QX80 will be presented on March 20, 2024. Ahead of the launch, Infiniti is giving us a taste of its new large SUV with a series of teasers, photos and videos.
The exterior design is still camouflaged
Infiniti teamed up with digital artist Kaoru Tanaka to create camouflage bearing patterns that cleverly hide the exterior design of this third-generation QX80. A self-taught artist from Osaka, Japan, Tanaka was inspired for this piece by the concepts of art, technology and movement, with commissioned digital work representing the movement and shapes of human DNA.
“Until new models come out, they’re usually hidden behind camouflage designed to hide them”Alfonso Albaisa, Senior Vice President of Infiniti Design, said on the occasion: “But we think the all-new QX80 is too unusual to hide completely. »
Under the hood, the third opus Infiniti QX80 will be driven by a V6 engine Nissan VR35DDTT 3.5L that develops a trifle 450 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque, an increase of 50 horsepower and 140 Nm compared to the current generation, while improving performance and reducing fuel consumption. This engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission with a 40% increased gear range.
Infiniti QX80: innovative audio system inside
Inside the new QX80, Infiniti promises a cabin “Calmly quiet and refined experience”. The model will be equipped with a electronic air suspension and Dynamic Digital Suspension technology, which adapts the vehicle’s behavior to the driving situation while promoting comfort by reducing body movements. The air suspension automatically lowers when the car is parked to facilitate access to the interior and loading of luggage.
We will also find on board three rows of seatswith numerous comfort features: massaging seats in the first and second rows activated by a touch screen, heated seats in all rows, not forgetting the “biometric” air conditioning system in the second row.
The Infiniti QX80 can also be optionally equipped with a Klipsch Reference Premiere audio systemwith power 1200 W and including 24 speakers, including four High Line roof speakers and titanium tweeters. Speakers built into the headrests will play music just for the front passengers, allowing other passengers to relax.
The third generation of Infiniti QX80 will be presented on March 20, 2024and will be shown at the New York Auto Show, which will be open to the public from March 29 to April 7, 2024.
