Izivia and Morrison: partnership to develop ultra-fast charging
Through a joint financial platform, Izivia and Morrison aim to invest in 450 million eurosin order to develop and deploy almost 8000 points of ultra-fast charging in France by 2030.
“Transport is the leading sector with greenhouse gas emissions in France. Their decarbonisation is a major challenge for the EDF group and Izivia. Thanks to Morrison and this strategic partnership, we strengthen our strategic positioning in the operation of public charging stations. We are convinced that the development of fast charging will accelerate the deployment of electric mobility.”– said Jean-Philippe Laurent, director of strategy and development of EDF’s customer service and territories department.
This partnership is strategic in the context of the growing demand of EV users for better access to charging solutions. Thus, Izivia and Morrison will develop a solution for ultra-fast charging, both on roads and in private parking lots open to the public : for example, near restaurants or large retail chains.
Demand is expected to increase in the coming years
According to Izivia, with the increase in sales of electric vehicles, we will see a sharp increase in the need for electric vehicle charging in the coming years. By 2030, the number of electric cars in France should reach almost 6.5 million carswhich will require electricity consumption of about 15 TWh.
This strategic partnership is aimed at participation in reducing carbon emissionsbut also the transition to a cleaner and more sustainable future.
“We are pleased to cooperate with the EDF group and its subsidiary Izivia, a major French player in the field of operating charging stations for electric vehicles. This project is another important step for Morrison in the European market. We believe that investing in companies that solve the age-old problems of modern society, such as our modes of transportation and their energy supply, is the key to the success of our investment strategy.”explains Pia Lambert, chief executive of Morrison.
Isivia is one of the main players in electric vehicle charging in France and aims to offer simple and efficient charging solutions.
