German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius has given the green light to the landing of the German Air Force for the necessary humanitarian aid in the Gaza Strip, joining several other states that have resorted to this decision, reports the DPA agency, quoted by Agerpres.
Boris Pistorius signed an order to the Bundeswehr on Wednesday, and actual deliveries could begin later this week. The German military previously confirmed that the aid was to be parachuted by S-130 aircraft stationed in France.
The French Air Force is already distributing supplies by air over the Gaza war zone.
The parachute aid initiative belongs to Jordan, in the context of which humanitarian organizations drew attention to the fact that the situation of the population in the Gaza Strip is becoming increasingly serious, after Israel severely limited the delivery of aid by land.
According to the UN, if the distribution of aid by ground transport, trucks, is not expanded, approximately 2.2 million inhabitants are at risk of food crisis and starvation.
Israel launched a large-scale military operation in the Gaza Strip and blocked access to the Palestinian territory after the mass murders committed by the militants of the terrorist organization Hamas on the territory of Israel on October 7 last year.
