Sergio Conceicao accuses Mikel Arteta of insulting his family during Arsenal’s Champions League clash with Porto

Arsenal won 4-2 on penalties to book their place in the Champions League quarter-finals for the first time since 2010.

Tensions were high at the Emirates and a heated debate between the coaches could be seen at the end of the match.

“During the match, he (Ni Arteta) went back to the bench and insulted my family in Spanish,” Conceicao said.

“In the end, I called him to get Arteta’s attention because the person he offended is no longer with us,” Lusita’s coach added, as quoted by News.ro.

Asked about the incident at the post-match press conference, Arteta simply said: “No comment.”

Arsenal scored the only goal in stoppage time through Leandro Trossard in the 41st minute to equalize after Porto won 1-0 in the first leg.

The first 90 minutes were followed by two extra periods, which were also scoreless, and qualification was decided on penalties.

Odegaard, Havertz, Saka and Rice converted for England, while Pepe and Grujic scored for FC Porto, with Wendell and Galeno missing thanks to David Ray’s intervention.
