An important but contested control

Indeed, soon technical inspection will become mandatory for another category of vehicles. This also applies to two-wheelers, who will also have to comply with this at the request of the government. The latter has even already recorded the date, viz next April 15, and it happens very quickly. But the bikers don’t want to hear about it and intend to prevent it. This is how the French Federation of Angry Bikers (FFMC) is mobilizing its work and has just released a legal manual on the boycott to inform and guide bikers in their protest. This guide, simply titled The Legal Boycott Guide, aims to provide motorcyclists with the information they need to comply with this new rule. He then turns to several points such as the conduct to be adopted for a boycott of technical inspection. This includes understanding the implications of insurance and preparing for possible law enforcement inspections.

Nationwide boycott of technical inspection

That’s not all, because the consequences of the boycott are also accurately described. Whether racing motorcycles or vintage cars, motorcyclists must be aware of the risks involved. The guide also covers reselling and bidding advice on avoiding CT. This guide is available on the website of the FFMK, as well as on the websites of the departmental branches of the federation, and it can be downloaded free of charge. It consists of eight clear and concise pages, allowing motorcyclists to quickly and efficiently receive information to know what they risk if they do not comply with this new measure. At the end of the document, there is a bright slogan: “Just don’t do it.” This homage to the shoe brand’s famous slogan encourages motorcyclists to stand firm and refuse MOT no matter what. It remains to be seen whether many two-wheeler drivers in the region will support this protest. Whatever happens, FFMC has no intention of giving up on anything.

On April 13 and 14, the organization has planned a large national demonstration that wants to fully protest the measure.
