A young man who fatally wounded a girl in the Botanic Garden in Craiova last summer has asked to change his legal status in the case in which he is being tried. According to News.ro, the Debt Court should make a decision on this next term.
On Monday, a new term was held at the Dolj court, where Aleksandra Fožike is tried, who last summer stabbed two young people, a 14-year-old girl and a 19-year-old boy, to death in the Craiova botanical garden. The girl died shortly after the attack, and the young man was saved by doctors.
According to local media, Alexandru Foike’s lawyer asked the court to change the classification for his client. Fohika is on trial for aggravated murder.
The next deadline in the case was set for March 26, when the court must issue a decision on the petition to change the legal qualification. Also then, the conclusions will be presented by the selected defenders.
In addition, according to local media, friends of the murdered young woman protested in front of the Dolj court and demanded that Alexandra Fozhike be sentenced to life imprisonment.
Last September, the young man went to court. The prosecutors of the Prosecutor’s Office at the Dolsh Court established that the young man was intentional.
“On 06/27/2023 around 4:00 p.m., while in the Botanical Garden in Craiova, the accused F.M.A. executed a felony murder by stabbing both victim LMM in vital areas, causing her death, as well as victim BE, causing her traumatic injuries requiring approx. 40 days of medical assistance and put the victim’s life at risk. When establishing the legal basis, the aggravating circumstance, intentionality, was taken into account, taking into account the fact that the defendant F.M.A. made up his mind to commit murder before leaving home, for which he prepared by arming himself with a knife and taking upon himself objects that could not commit. to be recognized, after which he thought about the method, circumstances, place and time of committing the actions,” prosecutors said.
They believed that although the young man did not know the two victims, “the way he acted showed that he left home with the clear intention of killing someone, leaving him only to choose his victims according to the circumstances and act at the right time.”
