
A horror film based on the beloved children’s character Winnie the Pooh won the Golden Raspberry, the traditional Oscar award for Hollywood’s worst roles, on Saturday, Reuters reported.
“Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey” “won” in the five categories in which it was nominated at the 44th Razzies, namely: Picture, Director, Screenplay, Movie Couple and Remake/Rip . -off/continuation.
The Jagged Edge Productions film seems to have earned its accolades, if you take into account what the film critics are saying.
Dennis Harvey of Variety called the film “a two-dollar borscht that falls short of even the most basic expectations created by its conceptual fiction.” The film has a rating of 3% on Rotten Tomatoes
Other “winners” include “Mercy” actor Jon Voight, who won a Golden Raspberry for “Leprechaun with an Irish Accent.”
Megan Fox received a couple of trophies: “Golden Raspberry” both for the main role in “Johnny and Clyde” and for the supporting role in the action film “Expend4bles”.
Sylvester Stallone also took home a Razzie for supporting actor for his role in Expend4bles.
More than 1,100 Razzie participants from the USA and about two dozen other countries voted for the awards, according to the official site “Golden Raspberry”.
What were the nominations for “Golden Raspberry”?
The Golden Raspberry presented its nominations for 2023 in January, after last year’s edition was embarrassing for the organizers.
Expend4bles, the fourth film in The Expendables franchise, received the most nominations in January — seven — at the 44th Razzie Awards, which honor the most uninspired films and acting.
In second place with five nominations were “The Exorcist: The Believer”, a remake of the classic horror series, and “Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey” – a bloody version of the story about the honey-loving bear.
Big-budget superhero movies Shazam! DC’s Fury of the Gods and rival Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania received four nominations each.
In the worst actor category, Russell Crowe (“The Pope’s Exorcist”), Vin Diesel (“Fast X”), Chris Evans (“Ghosted”), Jason Statham (“Meg 2: The Trench”) and Jon Voight (” Mercy”).
Ana de Armas (“Ghosts”), Megan Fox (“Johnny and Clyde”), Salma Hayek (“Magic Mike’s Last Dance”), Jennifer Lopez (“Mother”) and Helen Mirren (“Shazam! Wrath of the Gods”).
