Simona Halep can request an unlimited number of wildcards

According to tennis.com, WTA rules state that the former world number one and Grand Slam winner can request an unlimited number of wildcard symbols.

Had she not taken advantage of this exception, Halep could have claimed six wild cards in the competitive season under the rules.

The first wild card that Simona has already received is the WTA 1000 tournament in Miami, where the former world leader announced her return to tennis.

The Miami Open is a WTA 1000 category tournament that will be held from March 19 to 31.

We remind you that at the moment Halep does not have a WTA rating after a year and seven months of absence from world competitions.
