He was caught several times driving without a license. In June 2022, he was stopped by the traffic police team, which filed criminal proceedings against him, and then took him to court.
In February 2023, the Cornet Court sentenced him to 7 months and 10 days in prison by firing squad, given that he had a previous 6-month suspended sentence, obtained in July 2020 at the Galati Court of Appeal, also for driving without a license.
Lupu, who has been caught driving without a license several times, explained that he was rushing to the hospital.
- “I don’t know if I will be able to get a suspended sentence, I can’t tell you that myself. That’s why they’re lawyers, right? Yes, first of all I regret what happened. I had to. I was just going to the hospital. I was sorry, and the witnesses said the same. Now you know how it is in life, even if you make certain mistakes, I say if you make them in the interest of health… After all, it’s my mistake.
- I would not change anything, because I believe that the health of each person is more important than anything else. You understand I came after H1N1, after COVID, I also had heart problems.
