A new episode of the engine series Stellantis PureTech. After complaints and class action lawsuits against the engine manufacturer PureTech continue to speak even today.

What’s going on with that PureTech engine?

Although PureTech was chosen engine of the year between 2015 and 2018, later it became the subject of a lot of criticism and complaints from the owners of cars equipped with this engine. The latter is equipped with many brands of the Stellantis group Peugeot, Citroën, DS or Opel. After the dissatisfaction on the part of the owners became stronger and stronger, Stellantis was forced to admit that this engine had actually a problem. Quite an important problem because it engine design that in itself is problematic. Simply put, the PureTech engine is criticized for its excessive oil consumptionand its premature deterioration timing belt.
Despite this recognition of this design problem, it was not enough appease the anger of the owners who began to meet each other. Their goal is clear and simple, namely to get financial compensation from the Stellantis group.

Collective actions

Some time ago a the collective action was started by Christoph Legevak, a lawyer at the Paris headquarters. The purpose of a class action is to obtain financial compensation from a company or public institution for a large number of people who are victims of the same losses. This is exactly what the attorney launched against Stellantis. After the termination of registration for this promotion on January 14, Christoph Legevak received a reply from Stellantis.
In the press release, the lawyer indicates that in three general managers Peugeot, Citroën and Opel responded to his letter in which he proposed opening a dialogue.

So, is this real progress or just a communication ploy, that’s the whole question being asked today!

Meeting to start!

Christoph Legevak clarifies that it is the outstretched hand of Stellanthis does not mean that negotiations are underway. This is only the first step. The lawyer is now waiting for “first meeting” to learn about Stellantis’ intentions in this matter.
According to information from Provence, Maître Lèguevaques declares: “These are good statements, but I want to see action. I’m looking forward to the next meeting to find out.” For now, if both sides are open to discussion, dateless still undecided about a possible meeting.
