Klaus Iohannis received the President of the Republic of Moldova Maya Sanda in Kotrocheny on Tuesday. “There are only a few months left before the European Parliament elections in June, and it is very important that democracy wins again in Europe,” said a message posted on Iohannis’ Facebook page after the meeting with Maia Sandu.

In a Facebook post, Iohannis announced that he had a “very good dialogue with Maia Sandu regarding the great help” that Romania is providing to the Republic of Moldova, including its accession to the European Union.

On Tuesday, Maia Sandu also met with Prime Minister Çolaku and is going to participate in the Congress of the European People’s Party, which will be held in Bucharest on March 6-7 and will gather more than 2,000 delegates from more than 40 countries, including the president of the European Commission, the president of the European Parliament, heads of state and government, party presidents from the EPP side, as well as European commissioners who are part of the political family of popular Europeans.
