Many pre-orders

We have been hearing about the Renault 5 E-Tech for a long time. And no wonder it was shown for the first time in the form of a concept car at the beginning of 2021 during the presentation Reconstruction strategy by the brand manager Luka de Meo. Then it was at the Geneva Motor Show, which took place last week, that the final version was officially presented. A revelation with much fanfare that also coincided with the opening of pre-bookings for the electric city car. Official orders will begin in May, with deliveries scheduled for September or October next year. But already, no less than 50,000 bookings were recorded for this new catalog entry. Among them, many refer to the version for 25,000 euros, which will arrive a little later. The most expensive versions will hit the market first, followed by others.

French production

Fabrice Cambolivet, Renault’s general manager, particularly emphasizes the French production of city cars as a major selling point. He explains that “it’s a strategy to keep the development, supply chain and production of the car as close as possible to our customers. This will be an advantage in terms of logistics costs and speed of delivery.” The manager’s goal is to turn users into Renault Zoe to this latest novelty. But in addition to building loyalty, it also aims to win new customers, especially individuals. He estimates that 40% of sales will be for business, compared to 50% for the Clio, for example. Finally, it’s important to note that the entry-level version will not be compatible with DC fast charging. This may cause some problems for customers, who will therefore have to opt for the more expensive version.
