In recent months, new car sales have rebounded after a difficult year due to the Covid-19 epidemic. If some manufacturers are still a little behind, this is not the case for Peugeot. And it was not for nothing that the company again became the leader in the territory, the sales of which increased sharply at the beginning of the year. In January 2024, Peugeot sales increased by 15.4% to reach 20,410 units sold, while its main rival Renault recorded 14,844 sales in the same period. But that’s not all, because the month of February confirmed this positive trend, with an increase in registrations by 10.8%, or 22,222 copies. Very good news for the company. But how to explain these very good results? The answer lies in the beneficial effects of social leasing. Successful models
In February, the e-208 crushed the zero-emissions competition by selling 4,132 vehicles. The electric Fiat 500, also popular in France, is in second place with 2,114 units sold. A total of 18,402 copies Peugeot 208, all engines combined, have found buyers since the beginning of the year, increasing by 36.2% compared to the previous year. But that’s not all, because the Peugeot 308 maintains the 5th place in the ranking with an increase in the number of registrations by 6.2%. The Peugeot 408, less common and perhaps slightly less valued, performed even better with an increase of 18.1% and 3 places in the overall ranking (62nd place). Finally, 5008, at the end of its life, received 6 positions. The lion firm, which recently unveiled its new e-3008, has taken advantage of social leasing and the craze for electric cars to regain its leading position in the French market. The battle between Peugeot and Renault continues, but for now the Lioness roars louder than ever.
