Organizers of the season’s World Masters of Snooker tournament in Riyadh will offer a $500,000 prize for a 167-point break, the biggest in snooker history.

It was also presented how this performance can be achieved. After the classic maximum break of 147 points, the player will also have to enter the “golden ball”. This will be placed on the lower mantle from the start of the frame and is worth 20 points.

The “golden ball” can only be played at the end of the game and will be on the table only as long as a break of 147 points is possible. If the player inserts a ball of a color other than black, the “golden ball” will be selected.

Introducing the “golden ball” before the end of the game results in a penalty of 4 points.

The event in Saudi Arabia features the world’s top 10 players and two local wildcard players (Ali Alobaidli of Qatar and Omar Alaylani of Saudi Arabia).

The 2024 World Masters of Snooker in Riyadh takes place on March 4-6 at the Global Theater in Boulevard City (Riyadh, Saudi Arabia) and offers a total prize pool of £785,000. This is not a ranking tournament.

A semi-final appearance is rewarded with £75,000, the finalists receive £125,000 and the grand champion £250,000.
