
Two versions of the eHybrid with a capacity of 204 and 272 horsepower
A few months ago, the company from Wolfsburg released the third generation Volkswagen Tiguanafter more than 7.6 million units sold in two generations since 2007. Initially on the market with eTSI petrol engines and TDI diesel engines, the German SUV’s model range is now being expanded two plug-in hybrid versionscalled eHybrid.
These completely redesigned Volkswagens eHybrid engines combine the 116 hp (85 kW) electric motor with a 150 or 177 hp 1.5-liter TSI turbocharged gasoline engine to develop a combined output 204 horsepower and 272 horsepower. Thanks to the battery with useful capacity 19.7 kWhthe new Volkswagen Tiguan eHybrid displays a 100% electric range of more than 120 kmmore than 900 km in total.
The battery can be charged from a home outlet or terminal with a power of up to 11 kW (compared to 3.6 kW of the previous generation), as well as from a fast DC charging station with a power of up to up to 50 kW.
Volkswagen Tiguan plug-in hybrid: from 53,550 euros
Orders for the new Volkswagen Tiguan plug-in hybrid are already open in France at starting prices from €53,550 for the eHybrid version with a capacity of 204 horsepower in the Life Plus trim and from 60,800 euros for the eHybrid version with a capacity of 272 horsepower in the Elegance trim.
Among the standard equipment we find, in particular, the parking assistant Park Assist, adaptive and predictive cruise control “ACC” with speed limiter, double induction charger, three-zone automatic air conditioning, 10-color ambient lighting or the navigation and infotainment system Discover Media with 12.9-inch touch screen. Tiguans equipped with eHybrid engines also include new features Controlled suspension “DCC Pro”.which is offered as an option for €1,200 on other engines.
As an option, customers can also add a pneumatic massage function for the front seats, as well as the Touareg’s new IQ.Light HD matrix headlights.
In addition to the plug-in hybrid engines, Volkswagen is also offering a new 2.0 TDI diesel engine with 193 horsepower for the Tiguan, equipped with 4Motion all-wheel drive.
