Clips like the ones featuring Klaus Iohannis, Liviu Dragnia and Marcel Cholaku as violinists with the help of artificial intelligence may be funny, but this type of instrument can be very dangerous. In the context created by the deepfake, says Minister of Digitalization Bohdan Ivan, it can cause great damage to politics.

“I was thinking about what can be done with this tool, because today it is a funny clip that brought smiles to many people’s faces, but at the same time, this tool, how it can be calibrated, can bring election day, the image of a candidate, which, in the context created by the deepfake, says: “I love Russia.” At that moment, if it is promoted and not removed from the social network, and millions of Romanians see it, it can automatically influence this mass candidate. The main thing is to find a pattern. These funny videos today can be, like technology, a template to put a political candidate in any other pose,” the minister said on Digi 24’s ‘Before You’ show.
