The health authorities of the Bistrica-Neseud district detected an outbreak of measles in the Roma community of the town of Neseud after several children arrived at the hospital on Friday evening with fever, stomach pain and rash.

Kamelia Strungari, spokeswoman of the Bistrica District Emergency Clinical Hospital, said on Saturday that 15 minors were taken to the hospital, later discharged with medical care and home isolation for 5-7 days.

No child was vaccinated against measles.

“Last night, 15 minors aged between 1 and 17 years old from the city of Nesseud were brought to the emergency department – SMURD in the Bystrica county emergency medical hospital with suspected measles with symptoms such as fever, cough, skin rash. , abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, all are in a stable condition, conscious, cooperating. After the examination at the UPU-SMURD, the children were transferred to the infectious disease department for examination and treatment. At night, they were discharged with suspicion. measles, treatment, recommendations and indication of isolation at home for 5-7 days. “According to the parents’ statements, the minors were not vaccinated with the CCP vaccine,” Strungar said.

The head of the Public Health Department of Bistrica (DSP)-Năsăud, Anka Andrițou, told AGERPRES that the vast majority of those who arrived at the hospital were of preschool age, all of them from the Roma community where there was a case of measles. was reported during the past week.
