Romania’s national football team will be present at this year’s European Championship and Adrian Mutu says the players need standing matches to spring a surprise in Germany.
Adrian Mutu is skeptical about the form of Romanian players at EURO 2024
Romania have a balanced group at the European Championships in Germany, but the most important thing, according to Adrian Mutu, is the form of the Romanian players at the final tournament in the summer.
The coach of CFR Cluj believes that the footballers that Edi Yordenescu will have at his disposal need matches on their feet to cope at least in the group stage.
“I am happy about Romania’s qualification for the Euro. Once it seemed like a very difficult task, Eddy and the boys managed to get the team to the final tournament.
Belgium are favourites, but we have to believe in our chances. The only dilemma I have is the players’ fitness, I hope as many as possible are fit and playing for club teams.
Our path to the EURO depends on this. Also, the season is over, an important final tournament is ahead. If you don’t have players in form and with matches on their feet, it will be very difficult!
EURO is more difficult than the World Cup! At least I think so, considering that all the teams are very valuable, good, I mean the ones that go to the EURO.” Adrian Mutu said, according to GSP.
