Sorana Kirstya reached the 1/8 finals of the WTA tournament in Dubai, defeating Veronika Kudermetova in two sets with a score of 6-1, 6-4.

Sorana Kirstea (22 WTA) played another good match and qualified for the round of 16 of WTA Dubai on Tuesday.

The top-ranked player from Romania needed an hour and 30 minutes to overcome Veronika Kudermetova (WTA No. 19) at the end of the match, which was decided in two sets.

The Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships runs from February 18 to 24 on hard, is part of the “WTA 1000” category and has a total prize pool of $3,211,715. Simona Halep won the tournament in 2015 and 2020, and the reigning champion is Barbora Krejcikova.
