Romania finished second in Group 8 at the World Table Tennis Championships

Romania’s men’s team advanced to the round of 16 of the World Table Tennis Championships in Busan this morning with their third consecutive group stage victory.

Our boys managed to take second place in Group 8 after defeating Iran with a score of 3:1.

Eduard Ionescu lost the first game of the match against Iran, losing in 4 sets to Nima Alamian 10-12, 5-11, 11-5, 7-11.

In the second game, Ovidiu Ionescu beat Noshad Alamian 3-2, 11-9, 6-11, 9-11, 11-7, 11-4, and Darius Movilianu beat Amir Hossein Khodaei, 6-11, 12- 10, 11-5, 12-10.

The victory was brought by Eduard Ionescu, who in the fourth match of the match against Iran defeated Noshad Alamian with a score of 11-8, 6-11, 8-11, 11-6, 11-6.
