BYD is taking advantage of the Geneva Motor Show to stage a tour de force with new brands. The program includes an SUV and a luxury van.
BYD is set up on the Old Continent
The Geneva Motor Show is the best opportunity for manufacturers to stand out and make a name for themselves. “Build Your Dreams, already well established on the Old Continent with its models, has decided to hit Europe hard and is importing new brands, still unknown here, including Denza. Two models will be presented. The D9 luxury minivan, but especially the N7 SUV. A crossover coupe that is already on sale in China and uses the BYD Seal powertrain. 308 horsepower with rear-wheel drive and 523 horsepower with all-wheel drive. So, alongside these new features, the BYD Tang has received a new front end. Finally, there will be a model already known to us. BYD announces the Seal hybrid model. With its share of new cars, the manufacturer is using these announcements to add to its desire to set up plants in Europe. The Chinese manufacturer has already installed this structure in an assembly plant for electric buses and will make this structure its next plant for its cars. In the coming years, future European BYDs will be assembled in Hungary.
The SUV is sailing to Europe
The most anticipated is Janwan and his U8. His name may not mean anything to you, but he made an impression. The U8 is a flagship that can be compared to a tank mixed with a boat. Indeed, with more than 1,100 horsepower and 1,000 km of autonomy (batteries and a full tank of gas), the U8 is built to be unstoppable. A function that is complemented by a flotation system. The SUV allows its passengers to float for 30 minutes in the event of a flash flood. Another system has been developed for passenger safety, the intelligent hydraulic body control “DiSus-P” even allows driving on three wheels in the event of a puncture, thus ensuring maximum safety in emergency situations. Therefore, it is almost impossible to stop it. Everything is thought out so as not to endanger the trip of passengers and the driver. Capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 in 3.2 seconds, the SUV is also a technology monster built for maximum safety.. At least 38 sensors and 16 cameras provide assistance to the driver, autopilot and automatic parking. Priced at the equivalent of €140,000 when launched in China, the premium SUV is poised to rival the biggest in Europe.
Thus, in recent months, BYD has increased the number of new products in Europe, a new platform for its international conquests…
