This is not the first time you and I have talked about this Blue and sound restomod based on one of the most famous Volvo models, coupe P1800. But unlike its first radical version, very clearly intended for use on the track and introduced in 2020, this GT is quieter and more comfortable.

Chassis and more flexible engine

The Swedish drugmaker Cyan is back on the scene the second restomod on the basis Volvo P1800. This second version, called GT, is almost identical to the first car presented by the manufacturer in 2020. At least aesthetically… Under the hood of this P1800 GT, we still find the same 2-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged engine as in the racing cars that allowed the Swedish tuner to win the WTCC world title in 2017.. Excuse me a little. But unlike the previous Cyan restomod, this four-legged can display two power levels: 345 or 414 hp. Cavalry refers only to the rear wheels of the Swede through a 5-speed manual gearbox. The developer also claims that the power curve will have to be reworked to improve the “handlability” of the coupe and facilitate daily use. As for the chassis, it’s still a combination of high-strength steel and carbon fiber to lighten, but still make the body stiffer. To keep the P1800 from being too harsh, Cyan has completely reworked its coupe’s adjustable suspension, specifically to make its damping more suited for country roads and long trips rather than the track.

The work of art is just under €560,000…

The developer was interested not only in its chassis and engine. Cyan has also improved the soundproofing of its coupe to facilitate daily use. Still with the same point of view the Swedish specialist has also equipped its restomod with new, more comfortable seats. Even its titanium safety bar has been redesigned to provide more comfort for passengers and make this P1800 easier to use. There is no longer any reason not to hit the road behind the wheel to enjoy a short walk. Obviously, like any self-respecting restomod, each Volvo P1800 reviewed by Cyan is one-of-a-kind and fully customizable! Everything can be modified to the taste of the future owner. The owner, who should still have a well-filled wallet, since the average price of each copy is around $600,000, or just under €560,000 at current exchange rates. It is expensive, very expensive for a 60 year old Volvo… On the other hand, even if Cyan doesn’t decide to put together a limited number of examples, you’re unlikely to see many on the road…

It takes Cyan at least a year to reassemble one Volvo P1800! Therefore, it is better to be patient if you want to treat yourself to a copy of the Swedish restomod…
