Christian Horner would offer €760,000 after being accused of sexual misconduct

The employee turned over text messages purportedly proving this to an outside attorney investigating Horner’s case.

The Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf claims to have obtained the messages, which show that Horner regularly and over a long period of time sent messages of a sexually explicit nature to the employee.

It is also clear that Horner did everything in his power to keep this case secret. After Horner was asked to respond to the conduct investigation, his attorneys sent a letter to the employee’s attorney within 24 hours.

At the same time, Horner offered a deal worth more than 760,000 euros.

According to media reports, the Briton would have been accused internally of “inappropriate behaviour” towards an employee, allegations he denies “completely”.

Horner was questioned by a “legal specialist outside Red Bull” last Friday, but a decision on his future at the team has yet to be announced.

Married to Geri Halliwell (a former member of the Spice Girls), Horner has run Red Bull since it entered Formula One 19 years ago.

Under his leadership, Red Bull won seven drivers’ titles, four for German Sebastian Vettel (2010-2013) and three for Dutchman Max Verstappen (2021-2023), as well as six constructors’ crowns (2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2022 and 2023), writes News.ro.
