Nothing is known yet about the cause of his death.

It is reported that in recent days, Markov “has come under pressure from readers on social networks because of his position regarding his friends who were called up to fight in Ukraine.”

The photographer spoke in his Telegram channel about friends who went to fight in Ukraine.

Dmytro Markov was a photographer, photojournalist and activist and was born in 1982 in Pushkino, near Moscow.

Dmytro Markov was detained in February 2021 during unauthorized protests after a Moscow court sentenced leader Oleksii Navalny to prison.

Over 1,000 arrests during pro-naval rallies, especially in Moscow (NGO).

During his detention, he took a photo that will become a symbol of Russian repression and persecution – a masked policeman standing under a portrait of Vladimir Putin.

The news of the photographer’s death came on the same day as the news of the death of Russian dissident Oleksii Navalny.
