
Kostiantyn Popovych was recognized as the athlete of 2023 in high diving (jumping into water from a great height), the World Aquatics announced on Thursday.
Popovichi won gold medal in the 27m diving competition at the Fukuoka World Swimming Championships and then won the world circuit Red Bull Cliff Diving.
At this year’s World Championships, Konstantin Popovich finished 7th with a total of 340.50 points due to an injury that occurred in New Zealand on the final stage of the Red Bull circuit.
In the women’s category, Rhiannan Iffland (Australia) received the Sportswoman of the Year award.
