Aston Martin announced this to us and kept their word, the manufacturer has actually updated its Vantage, making it sportier and more efficient than ever! It even makes you wonder if you can talk about a facelift when the improvements are so significant?
A completely new nose and interior for the Aston Martin Vantage
The entire front end of the Vantage has been completely redesigned, from the tip of the bumper to the end of the cabin. Aston Martin has given its sports car a completely redesigned nose, directly inspired by that of its big, also recently updated: the DB12. The manufacturer also widened its sports car by 3 cm to make it more squat. The least we can say is that from the front it is simply unrecognizable and more dynamic than ever. And Aston is far from giving its entry-level model a facelift. As soon as the door opens, we immediately notice that Advantage now has the same GT-like dashboard and cabin. It was time! The English athlete made her debut at 21d century thanks to a fully digital instrument panel, as well as a 10.25-inch central screen. The digital dashboard finally benefits from a new infotainment system that can also reproduce the display of your Apple or Android smartphone. But, surprisingly, most of the modifications are not even aesthetic, but mechanical!
155 hp and 115 Nm additionally to reach 665 hp. and 800 Nm!
While the Vantage still uses Mercedes’ 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8, the latter has been almost completely revised by Aston Martin’s English engineers. They installed new turbines, redesigned the camshafts, as well as the compression ratio of the cylinders, but above all, they significantly increased its cooling capacity. The improvement was made possible thanks to the new design of its grille. Result, this facelift retained the English 155 hp. and 115 Nm, so it shows a total power of 665 hp. and 800 Nm! That’s 30% more horsepower and 15% more torque than the previous Vantage. And while that power is still only sent to the rear wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission, Aston did rework the ZF gearbox. It Aston Martin Vantage the improved one can now accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 325 km/h! And when there is no more, there is still more. The manufacturer also focused on the chassis of its model, improving its rigidity and responsiveness. It also benefits from a new traction control system. Adjustable in 8 positions, it allows you to exit corners more or less sideways depending on the driver’s wishes. Aston Martin even went a step further by fitting their Vantage with specially designed Michelin Pilot Sport S 5 tires! Therefore, he should only drive fast and give a banana to his driver in a straight line!
Aston Martin has not yet officially announced the price of its new model. However, the English brand is already announcing a starting price of around £165,000 across the Channel, or around €193,000 at the current exchange rate.
